Port Angeles

Since 1993, Western’s Huxley College on the Peninsulas has offered students the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree on the Olympic Peninsula.

Originally established with funding provided to retrain workers impacted by the Northwest Forest Plan and subsequent Rayioner Mill closure, today’s self-sustaining programs continue to serve the educational needs of the community of Port Angeles and surrounding Clallam County area.

Degree Programs in Port Angeles

Environmental Policy, B.A.
The Bachelor’s environmental policy program prepares students for careers invested in the sustainability of the environment. This track provides courses in public policy development, methods and processes of policy decision making and environmental law.

Environmental Science, B.S.
As part of the nationally acclaimed Huxley College of the Environment, the Environmental Science major allows students to acquire the technical and problem solving skills needed to restore and conserve the environment. This track draws on knowledge of the physical, chemical, biological and quantitative aspects of natural systems.

Human Services, B.A.
For those looking for a career as case managers, fundraisers, trainers, grant writers, youth workers, volunteer coordinators, para-educators, and advocacy specialists for individuals in need, this program provides a foundation to help make a difference in improving the lives of communities, families and individuals.

Multidisciplinary Studies, B.A.
A popular option for those who have an accumulation of college credits, such as military personnel or those who have recently moved to Kitsap County and want to complete a Bachelors degree. This customizable degree program builds upon an applicant’s accumulation of earned college credits and interests. Flexible face-to-face and online course options are available for students in Port Angeles.
